Hello forum people.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have been working on the Minigames server lately and have came across a semi-troubling decision. And what I need you people to do is tell me which one is, simply put, "most awesome".
Here's how the server works:
People get money from playing minigames/killing people/being online.
With this money, they can type /store to access the in-chat store, which allows them to buy hats (like from the prison server), colored nametags (like from the prison server), or trails (leave a particle effect behind player).
I want to add at least one more category to buy from, so I decided on using either player models or player mounts.
"Models" replace the player entity. I used disguise craft for this. All other players will see the player with the model as whatever he is disguised as, be it a creeper or a minecart.
"Mounts" apply the specified model to the player while keeping the player entity. This gives the effect of the player wearing the disguise.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MODELS:
Pros:
- Custom heads can be put on zombies and skeletons to match player's skin
- Models still spit out particle trails
- Mob hitboxes serve as player hitboxes.
Cons:
- When equipped, a player's nametag or any hat is hidden
- Disguised players have to way of identifying them
PICS:--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MODELS:
Pros:
- Hats, trails and nametags stay intact
- Allows minecart and smaller animals disguises, as player keeps his own hitboxes
Cons:
- Gets glitchy when player jumps (mob stays behind)
- Skeletons and zombies will display whatever the player is holding in his hand, making there appear to be two of whatever the player is holding.
PICS:--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please take the time to vote and comment. It will help give me an idea as to which direction I should take the server in.
